This year, a group of five CCNM students had the honor of attending the National Health Sciences Students’ Association (NaHSAA) conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia on the weekend of March 4th-6th, 2016. Megan Bernard (year 3), Karlee Handy (year 1), Chris Brown (year 2), Maisam Hasan (year 2) and Rabab Zaghi (year 2) took part in the conference, representing CCNM and participating in an eventful weekend. The conference provided an excellent opportunity, bringing students together from across the country from various healthcare professions, to discuss the importance of integration, advocate for issues regarding healthcare, as well as discuss quality of patient care. Lectures were given by wonderful speakers to address issues from regulation of healthcare to discrimination and racism. Schools and faculties were given the opportunity to present their research, allowing students to learn about different and current research from various healthcare fields.
